AMMAN (Petra) -- Amman Mayor Omar Maani on Monday discussed with representatives from several public and private companies means to support a carnival marking the centennial of the establishment of Amman's first municipal council. AMMAN - The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) has announced its intention to renovate the ageing houses in the Citadel area in Amman to prevent environmental consequences. During a meeting held over the weekend between Amman Mayor Omar Maani and representatives of residents of the Citadel area, Maani assured the local community that GAM would not demolish a single building in the neighbourhood.

AMMAN - About 300 intellectuals and officials launched a project on Saturday at the City Hall to republish books by the late Jordanian historian Suleiman Musa, a year after he passed away at the age of 89. Aiming to "introduce our history to the new generation", the writer's sons and the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) unveiled a new edition of Musa's first work, an Arabic translation of "The Antiquities of Jordan" by British writer Gerald Lankester Harding.
